Hundreds of items from Imperial Russia and the Third Reich will be auctioned by the Andreas Thies Company at Nuertingen/Germany. There are medals (Iron Cross, RItterkreuz), sabers, books, coins/banknotes, jewelry and other most interesting memorabilia. A considerable part of the catalog displays autographs from German WW II generals and politicians.

Official framed presentation photo of Emperor William II. To Adolf Hitler, 1933. With original ink signature and dedication by the Kaiser. Together with William II. original telegramm to Hitler on the occasion of Germany’s victory over France, 17. 6. 1940 and Hitlers answer as well as a note saying that Hitler had decided not to post the letter but send a telegramm onlyto the Kaiser instead. PROMOTION DOCUMENT AS FIELD MARSHALL FOR ERICH v. MANSTEIN (JULY 5th 1942). ORIGINAL INK SIGNATURE BY ADOLF HITLER. EXTREMLY RARE DOCUMENT OF HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE.

Adolf Hitler’s appointment of Fritz Erich Von Manstein to Field Marshall dated July 5, 1942.  Document reads “ Effective July 1, 1942 General Colonel Von Lewinski a.k.a. Van Manstein, Commanding Officer of the 11th Army is promoted to General Field Marshall”.  Next to Rommel, Manstein is considered the ablest of the German Field Marshall’s. It was Manstein who devised the plan to attack France through the Arden forest, the attack that led to France’s fall in little over three weeks.

Erwin Rommel’s “Soldbuch”. The Soldbuch is the basic pay and identity booklet for all active duty German soldiers. The Soldbuch contained information on the soldiers pay grade, current unit of assignment, as well as his replacement unit. Medical information, as well as awards was included. Rommel’s Soldbuch listed all his promotions from “General Major” to “General Field Marshall” in 1942.The booklet is signed by Rommel, listing his date of birth as November 15, 1891 in Heidenheim. Also signed by Alfred Jodl, Berlin, October 18 1939 as General Major. On one of the last pages is Rommel’s death certificate, officially signed by the attesting doctor with the official stamp affixed. On a separate document are a signed receipt {Death Certificate} that lists the contents of articles on Rommels person, which included his pay book {Soldbuch}, and his drivers license {Fuhrerschein}.
