Autograph Collecting at Barcelona F1 Tests March 2009
Lewis Hamilton:
Lewis was surrounded by fans, securities and officials all the time. The only chance to get a nice autograph of him was early in the morning when he arrived in the paddock or late in the evening after his 3 hour meetings with his technicians. (!) When someone was able to meet him after a long waiting time it was possible to get 1 or 2 nice autographs. At the first day of the test he was only signing with dedicating the autographs.
Heikki Kovalainen:
He is definitely the second driver in the team. Nevertheless he was signing only one autograph per meeting and he is stamping each collectors face. When a collectors asks him again a few moments or hours later he reacts nerved.
Felipe Massa:
Equally to Lewis only possible to get his autograph very early or very late. The Ferrari Motorhome was beseted heavily during the day. Even if you met him in a calm moment, he writes his curves.
Kimi Räikkönen:
Equally to Felipe. Kimi is only collectable by experienced collectors who know his behaviour and ways. You need a very good timing for him, because he is always running taking one photograph for the whole way from the pits through the paddock to his motorhome. He is signing the photographs nearly ever time on the below left side.
Fernando Alonso:
The star of this test, at least for all the Spanish fans. During the day he was surrounded by security and police officers. The trouble around him was amazing. As all super stars only collectable in the dark, at maximum 1-2 autographs.
Nelson Piquet jr.:
He was signing his short signature at the beginning of the test. (NAP) He left the test in the evening of the first day, because he had to give the car to Fernando. When he left the track, he signed his full signature.
Jarno Trulli:
He signed hectically two autographs per meeting. Not as nice as in the ast.
Timo Glock:
Made himself scarce, was infrequently to meet. May be he had technical meetings all the time.
Sébastien Buemi:
He is a very kind driver who STILL signs every picture. He has changed his signature in contrast to his GP2 time. Now the autograph is nicer. He will fill Vettel’s shoes.
Mark Webber:
Sebastian Vettel:
In spite of being popular and successful he is well grounded. He is STILL very kind and he had time for his fans while he was signing multiple autographs.
Nico Rosberg:
He took to sign maximal three autographs per fan and event. He is nevertheless a very kind driver. He does not sign his full signature anymore, except for the writer of this text.
Kazuki Nakajima:
He wrote everything. Very kind. When he was asked he signed in japanese.
Jenson Button:
Schrieb nur ein Autogramm je Treffen. Glänzte wie Rubinho mit Topzeiten, nicht nur auf der Strecke. Auch sein Autogramm kritzelt er rasend schnell.
Rubens Barrichello:
It is not possible to get an autograph longer than “RB”. Rubens: “I sign my sign!” Only one autograph possible.
Adrian Sutil:
He wrote everything. But his signature is getting more and more uncomely.
Giancarlo Fisichella:
He wrote 2-3autographs per meeting, very hectical.
Michael Schumacher:
He is more relaxed in contrast to his racing days. Nevertheless still one of the toughest signers. He welcomes the writer of this text namely and was signing nice for him. But it is still impossible to get more than two autographs at one event. Candid photos showing the drivers signing could be found at
