No I did not.
But you have to send a photo to sign.
He never replied the first year, when I didn't send photos.

I think I have only lost one photo sent to him, which is never returned. 3 of 4 is not bad I think

Good luck on Gorbachev! I'm sure he'll get back to you.
If I were you however I would start sending only one item. Since he is picky (or doesn't answer all requests it seems) I think it's better to have him sign one item than none.
