I got this response from her publisher:
"Doris Lessing has asked us to thank you for your recent letter. Unfortunately she cannot answer all the letters she receives personally, as this would leave her no time to write her books.
Mrs. Lessing made a decision some years ago not to give any further autographs as she found that people were selling these.
Thank you for your kind words and we are sorry to write so disappointingly."
